At Buggy Iceland, adventure begins at our headquarters on Lambhagavegur 13. Here, guests are welcomed into a warm and comfortable space where they can gear up and get ready for the ride ahead. After each tour, we offer a light selection of food and drinks—perfect for unwinding and reliving the highlights of your journey.
Our location is surrounded by dramatic and varied terrain, offering an ideal playground for buggy driving. From rugged wilderness and steep trails to challenging off-road routes, every tour is designed to deliver a thrilling, adrenaline-packed experience. We can accommodate up to 40 participants per tour.
In addition to our popular 1- and 2-hour tours, we offer customizable experiences tailored to your schedule and interests—including 4-hour excursions or full-day adventures at locations of your choice.
We proudly operate the newest and most powerful buggies in Iceland. Our 4-seat Polaris RZR buggies pack 110 horsepower and are built to conquer even the steepest hills. With 45.7 cm of suspension travel and 34.3 cm of ground clearance, they handle rough terrain with ease—ensuring a smooth, safe, and exhilarating ride for every passenger.



Meet the Buggy Iceland Team
Kári Þorbergsson – Owner & Lead Guide
A marine engineer by trade, Kári was born and raised in Hella. He is the founder of Buggy Iceland and an active member of the Hella Search & Rescue team. Guiding since 2008, Kári considers Fjallabak his playground. His extensive knowledge of Iceland’s remote trails, along with strong connections in both tourism and motorized adventure communities, make him an invaluable part of our team. Kári has years of experience driving super jeeps, snowmobiles, and buggies.
Guðmundur Skúlason – Owner & Guide
Born and raised in Mosfellsbær, Guðmundur has been riding and racing motorized vehicles his entire life. With vast experience exploring Iceland on enduro bikes, snowmobiles, and buggies, he brings unmatched expertise. Guðmundur is the CEO of Stormur, the official Polaris distributor in Iceland, and his strong industry network opens up countless opportunities for the company.
Jens Þór Sigurðarson – Owner & Guide
Originally from Bolungarvík, Jens is a former search and rescue volunteer and a graduate of Iceland’s agricultural college. His connections with farmers across the country provide unique access to routes rarely explored by others. Jens also serves as a helicopter commander with the Icelandic Coast Guard. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, snowmobiling, and exploring the highlands.
Kristján Friðrik Sigurðsson – Senior Guide
One of our most experienced team members, Kristján has worked extensively laying telecom and fiber optic lines across mountain ridges and fjords throughout Iceland. He is also a former search and rescue volunteer, bringing years of practical knowledge and deep familiarity with remote landscapes.
Nikulás Már Finnsson (“Nikki”) – Guide
A lifelong motorsport enthusiast, Nikki is the chief mechanic at Stormur, Polaris’ Icelandic distributor. He is also an active member of a Reykjavík-based search and rescue team. With extensive experience traveling remote areas and competing in buggy races, Nikki brings technical knowledge and high-energy adventure to every tour.
Kristján Uni Jensson (“Uni”) – Guide
An outdoor enthusiast with a passion for exploration, Uni spends his free time riding enduro bikes and snowmobiles. He has hands-on experience operating heavy equipment and traveling through some of Iceland’s most challenging terrain, especially in the highlands.
Fannar Freyr Atlason – Guide
A former search and rescue member and helicopter pilot, Fannar is a true outdoorsman. Whether biking, skiing, or driving through the wilderness, he knows the Icelandic highlands like the back of his hand. His versatile background adds depth and safety to every expedition.
